		<description>&lt;i&gt;the traditional Bachelors degree outside of a few of the hard science majors tells an employer virtually nothing about the capabilities of the holder of the degree.&lt;/i&gt; 
 
The degree is not for the employer in the first case, but it does tell the employer that a candidate is willing to put of with four years of this and that to get something done. 
 
The this and that is more often than not a liberal arts education in which a student will get a smattering of a variety of subjects that help that individual develop an understanding of the world:  in other words you&#039;re more likely to end up with a well-rounded individual than someone who has studied only chemistry for four years. 
 
Vocational education already exists - the complaint that the BA does not match employer&#039;s needs is a silly one as they can hire people out of DeVry if that&#039;s what they&#039;re looking for. </description>
